Why “Chef Smile” cakes are so special?

I use only the best ingredients and always bake from scratch. The results are superior baked goods. You spend a lot of time and money to make your event as perfect as you can - you should have a cake that you and your guests will enjoy.

These days, more and more brides are opting for a simple, elegant cake without a lot of inedible adornment. Sometimes people still purchase cakes more for show than for taste, and I don't think that's right. If it doesn't taste good I refuse to put it in or on your cake. For this reason alone, I don't cover cakes in fondant. My decorating style is characterized by elegant simplicity.

Policies & Prices

Wedding cakes are priced on a "per serving" basis and start at $5.00/serving for basic flavors and cake designs, iced in smooth and delicious European Butter cream. In creating your wedding cake, the price is determined by the amount of time it takes me to finish your cake. The more time required to create your custom cake, the higher the price. Final price per serving is determined by the level of difficulty of the design and decorating.

Sheet cake is available at $2.25/serving, and is recommended as supplemental servings for larger receptions. Sheet cake is delivered to the catering kitchen staff when the wedding cake is delivered. Side cakes are popular with caterers, as they are easy to slice and the waiters can get a head start on serving your guests.

Your wedding cake, unless otherwise indicated, are torte style with 4 - 6 layers of cake with filling between each layer. Each tier is aproxamatly 5 inches high.The price includes one flavor of cake and one flavor of filling.

There is a $100 minimum on all cake orders.

Deposits

A non-refundable fee of $50 is required to reserve your date. An additional 50% deposit is required at the time we finalize your order, at least 30 days before your event. The balance is due in full at least 14 days before the delivery date. All deposits are applied to the balance due and are non-refundable.

I will contact you to confirm the final details of your wedding cake order 14 day prior to your wedding date. After that, changes in flavors, design and number of servings are not permitted.

Tasting

You may select 1 or 2 cake varieties to taste before you make a deposit to reserve your date. There is a $10.00 charge for each 6 inch cake that is created for your tasting, which is put towards the final cost of your wedding cake.

Flavors

I  create the cake you want and custom-bake it for you a few days before your wedding.

Two of my favorite cakes are Lemon Cardamom Cake and Asian Dark Chocolate Ginger Wasabi Cake. Other cakes that I’ve created include Black Forest Cherry Cake, Mexican Chocolate Cake, and many other wonderful combinations.

If you prefer a more traditional wedding cake flavor then consider Yellow, White, Lemon, Chocolate, or Carrot. The combinations are limited only by your imagination.

Rentals

You may chose to rent special cake stands, fountains, pillars and plates from a party supply store. Or if you’d prefer, I can rent them for you, adding the rental fees to your final total. You will be responsible for returning any rented items to the business that they were rented from. I know you are very busy preparing for your event. As a team you and I will work together so that you won’t have to worry about your cake on your wedding day.

Flowers

Your wedding cake can be finished with fresh flowers, which you can drop off a day or so before your event. We then decorate your cake with your choice of blooms as an added no-cost service. You may also schedule for your florist to decorate your cake onsite.

I can create white chocolate hand sculpted flowers, in pastel colors, that are not only beautiful but are also very tasty as an edible alternative to fresh flowers. Popular choices include hand- made roses, calla lilies, dogwoods, and gardenias. Another option to consider is butter cream flowers that can be piped directly on your cake. 

Delivery

All cakes are delivered two hours before guests arrive and final decoration will be done on site.

Delivery of your cake with in 40 miles (round trip) is included. If your event is outside of the local area, there is a charge of $20 per hour of travel time there and back. The cost of ferry tickets and toll bridges will be added to the cost of the delivery fee.
